90 paintings in 90 days, Day 23, Polynesian Voyaging Canoes

     Polynesian Voyaging Canoes
Seven voyaging canoes, sailing across the Pacific as part of Te Mana o Te Moana, which translates “The Spirit of the Sea” visited Hawaii over the summer. The voyage of several years began in April 2011 in Aukland, New Zealand. After visiting the Big Island and Maui they sailed to Molokai in June. Bill Harris took the photograph I used for the painting from the beach on Molokai with the island of Lanai in the background. Follow their journey at: http://www.pacificvoyagers.org
Thanks Bill, I love the image, but if you call me Cathy I'll start calling you Uncle :).
