I remember in 1984 saying good bye here to Angelie Achatz, Miss Samoa for Miss World in 1983.It is a shock to know such a beautiful tropical hotel has gone.PeteHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14215720253719598908noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7958146203224724048.post-3092763453391060302013-05-26T07:09:58.753-07:002013-05-26T07:09:58.753-07:00I remember while living there meeting Adeline Huff...I remember while living there meeting Adeline Huff, later I think she remarried and changed her last name, at the bar at the Rainmaker, her mother, Mary Pritchard and her tapa work, those are great memories I will always carry of two wonderful women who are no longer with us, Luckily I caught up with Adeline before she passed, she was living in California with her relatives, so sad she passed and miss the past.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04114378630786124367noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7958146203224724048.post-58369780854059034602013-05-26T00:05:42.205-07:002013-05-26T00:05:42.205-07:00It is really sad what has become of the Rainmaker....It is really sad what has become of the Rainmaker. At least half of it was restored, but nothing like at it's peak. I miss living there too, there was something so magical about living in all that lush green beauty. Could be I was just younger and more fun too. It's good to have such wonderful memories. Best to you. catherinebuchanan.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14059308603869415392noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7958146203224724048.post-58419641274110011472013-05-25T19:02:04.900-07:002013-05-25T19:02:04.900-07:00I remember the Rainmaker Hotel. When I lived in Samoa I use to have breakfast at the restaurant downstairs by the pool and often enjoyed evening cocktails at the bar there with the fantastic shell chandelier, hinged windows turned in the direction of the winds coming in off of the harbor. I worked for Emily Grey at the Island Trends Hair Salon and lived in Tafuna in government housing, really miss those days.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04114378630786124367noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7958146203224724048.post-76131998617773589152011-07-22T10:58:28.779-07:002011-07-22T10:58:28.779-07:00you might enjoy browsing this.
